Journal: The film world is full of modernizations of old story concepts, the movie Clueless is based on Jane Austin’s Emma, O is based on Shakespeare’s Othello, while Ten Things I Hate About You is based on Taming of the Shrew, and Cold Mountain on Homer’s The Odyssey, so on and so forth; How could Miller’s The Crucible be modernized (or alternately, how could you skew the perspective; i.e. The Wizard of Oz : Wicked as The Crucible : what)? –What might be some of the challenges of doing so?
